Miniatures and War Games
Many gamers come out weekly to Red Planet Games and Hobbies to play our wide variety of offered miniatures and war games. Each game is described below, with links to learn more, as well as what types of supplies we carry for each game.
HeroClix
Often described as "chess with comic book characters," HeroClix is a miniatures game featuring all your favorite comic book characters, with superpowers playable in-game. A roll of the six-sided dice and a little strategy is all that stands between you and your opponent, and sometimes the difference between a 7 and an 8 decides the game. You can build teams that reflect comic-accurate lineups, or play a team of superheroes that never, ever saw each other in the comics. Play with Superman and Spiderman, Batman and Iron Man, even Wonder Woman and Invisible Woman if you want--they and many more superheroes are available!
Red Planet Games & Hobbies has weekly casual HeroClix tournaments on Saturdays at 2:00 pm; watch our HeroClix forums to see what the week's theme will be. The shop also offers booster packs and many, many singles, both from older sets and newer sets, as well as six-sided dice for the games. Dust Tactics
The year is 1947. The war that started eight years ago when Germany invaded Poland isn’t over. Rather, the conflict has spread worldwide, and but a handful of countries cling to relative neutrality. Throughout the world, three major superpowers fight to claim exclusive control over a revolutionary source of power: Vk. This rare ore, mined from deep within the earth, has revealed extraordinary properties and ushered in the design of gigantic combat robots capable of challenging the world’s most advanced tanks. The initial discovery of Vk, which seems only to be found in the most inhospitable places on the planet, is shrouded in rumor and propaganda. One thing is certain: each major superpower wants not only to control Vk, but to deny it to their enemies. Elite troops and massive combat robots wage violent battles to claim these energy reservoirs... and this is the story of such a battle.

Warmachine/Hordes
In WARMACHINE, the very earth shakes during fierce confrontations of Armageddon-like proportions. WARMACHINE is a fast-paced and aggressive 30mm tabletop miniatures battle game set in the steam-powered fantasy world of the Iron Kingdoms. Players take on the role of elite soldier-sorcerers known as warcasters. Though warcasters are formidable combatants on their own, their true strength lies in their magical ability to control and coordinate mighty warjacks—massive steam-powered combat automatons that are the pinnacle of military might in the Iron Kingdoms. Players collect, assemble, and paint fantastically detailed models representing the varied warriors, machines, and creatures in their armies. This is steam-powered miniatures combat, and your tabletop will never be the same!
In HORDES, monstrous beasts set upon one another in a bloody clash of tooth and fang that churns the battlefield into a seething sea of carnage. Brought to righteous wrath by the intruding wars of man or their own thirst for conquest, their masters feed on the pain and rage and forge primal energy into a weapon to wield against their enemies. Ash, desolation, and the smoking ruin of once-proud civilizations are all that remains in their wake.

Set in the wilds of the Iron Kingdoms, HORDES is WARMACHINE’s feral twin. In this award-winning, fast-paced, 30mm tabletop miniatures game, players jump into the action controlling powerful battle-wizards known as warlocks. Warlocks are formidable combatants in their own right, but their true strength is drawn from their synergy with packs of savage warbeasts that allow them to contend on equal footing with the greatest modern armies of the Iron Kingdoms. Players collect, assemble, and paint fantastically detailed models representing the varied warriors, minions, and beasts in their hordes. This is monstrous miniatures combat, and your tabletop will never be the same!

Blood Bowl
Ever watched a football game and wished you could control the movements of the players? Well, you get to do just that in Blood Bowl, which is a cross between extra-violent football/rugby style moves and the strategy of a miniatures game. Play a team full of fast Elves, hard-hitting Orcs or Dwarves, or several other races of players! Plus, in Blood Bowl, the miniatures are completely customizable--you can paint all your linemen the same color and have your throwers in a different color, or you can paint them all the same color. You can also use modeling putty to build fun additions onto each miniature figure!
RPG&H features a Blood Bowl League, which plays off week by week (similar to how Super Bowl playoffs are done). We also carry painting and modeling supplies to make your force your own. We'd love to have you join us! Click here to see a list of those supplies.

Monsterpocalypse
If you love Godzilla, King Kong, and other such colossal terrors, you'll love Monsterpocalypse--a miniatures game that isn't quite so mini! Play with rampaging space aliens, giant monkeys, enraged insect creatures, and many other types of villainous invaders, as well as troops of ground units working for the giant creature, all in an attempt to take your opponent down. The system of dice and damage is different from HeroClix, but fairly easy to pick up and play. Not only do you play with giant creatures and ground units, but you also get to construct the city they rampage through as well--it's Bring Your Own Buildings!

Malifaux
